About Jason
Firstly, and most importantly - thank you. Thank you for not only the support so many of you have already shown me, but for choosing to stay engaged and informed in our school district, even with all the drama and instability we have all seen or been caught in the middle of over the last several years. We’re tired, we’re frustrated, and we are desperate to get to a place of stability, and stay there. This is where I’m hoping I can help.
A lot of you may remember me as that IT guy with the accent that worked for the district for 11 years. If you do, I look forward to meeting up with you again in the new future! If you don’t know who I am (how dare you!), let me give you some brief highlights:
I’m originally from just outside London in the UK, and moved to the States in 2007 to get married to my then girlfriend, now wife. I worked for Apple as a ‘Genius’ AKA troubleshooting and repairing devices. I then felt the itch to do something bigger, and decided to move to the public sector and joined FHSD as a District Technician, where I was mostly known as the ‘Apple Guy’. I was promoted a couple of years later to Technology Services Manager, where I oversaw the day-to-day operations of providing support to teachers, staff, and students, and the devices they used. I was also in charge of the selection, purchase, and deployment logistics of all the devices that students and staff would use. I also attended every Board meeting to provide technical support and stream the meetings to the world. I’ve worked under multiple superintendents, administrators and staff at all levels.
In 2023, I was offered the position of Director of IT for the City of O’Fallon, MO and have spent the last few years overseeing the IT needs of what makes a city work, from the police department, to the waste water treatment plant.
I live and work in O’Fallon, my wife is a theatre teacher at FH Middle, and my children attend FH Middle and FH High. Our family, like many of yours is invested in the success of our community, and at the heart of every successful community is a great public school system.
I’m running with no agenda. I have no political aspirations. I am running for Board simply because I want to do what I can to ensure students receive a high quality education from happy, respected teachers and staff, in a safe and welcoming environment. Nothing more. I intend to run an authentic campaign, free of drama and politics. I’m in this for the right reasons and I want that to show in everything I do.
One of my favorite bands, ‘Marianas Trench’ has a song called ‘Haven’ that has a line that has resonated with me these last few years: ‘If we fall, then we all fall together. So let’s stand and fight’. We’re stronger than we were a couple of years ago, but our district is not out of the woods yet. We face many challenges, so please stand and fight with me, for our teachers, our schools, our kids, and our community.
Let’s go.
